Sabbath- A Journey to Renewal, Restoration, and Reconnection

Opening Prayer

Father Yahusha, we come before You with hearts open to Your word and spirit. May this sermon uplift, restore, and renew the spirits of all who hear it. Grant us wisdom to embrace the Sabbath as a gift, reconnect with Your divine presence, and find peace in the rhythms of grace You provide. May Your Ruach HaKodesh guide every word spoken here today. Halaleyah.

The Story of Annie's Renewal

Annie, a single mother in a bustling city, found herself worn out. The demands of her work, family, and the daily grind had drained her spirit. She longed for peace but didn’t know where to begin.

One Friday evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, she came across a message from WBJMinistries- “The Sabbath is a time for renewal, restoration, and reconnection with Yahusha HaMashiach.” The words struck a chord deep within her soul. She decided that this Sabbath would be different—she would honor it fully.

Annie lit a candle and whispered a prayer*

“Yahusha, I release my burdens into Your hands. Teach me to embrace this day as You intended.”

She opened her Halaleyah Scriptures and read-

“Guard the Shabbath day, to keep it qodesh, as יהוה Eloheka has commanded you.” — Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 5:12

Then, she turned to her King James Bible and found the same passage-

“Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.” — Deuteronomy 5:12 (KJV)

The words seemed alive, breathing new hope into her weary heart.

Restoration Through Rest

The next morning, Annie woke early. Instead of rushing to complete errands, she sat on her mat in quiet meditation. Inspired by Buddhist practices she had read about, she focused on her breath, anchoring herself in the present moment. With each inhale, she invited Yahusha’s peace; with each exhale, she released her worries.

As she meditated, Annie remembered another scripture-

“For thus said the Master יהוה, the Qadosh One of Yisra’ĕl, ‘In returning and rest you are saved; in stillness and trust is your strength.’” — YeshaYahu (Isaiah) 30:15

From the King James Version, it echoed-

“In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.” — Isaiah 30:15 (KJV)

She felt an overwhelming sense of renewal as if Yahusha Himself was lifting her burdens and filling her with His joy.

Reconnecting Through Relationships

That afternoon, Annie invited her teenage son and her elderly neighbor, Mrs. Green, for a simple Sabbath meal. Over the table, she shared the story of the Sabbath’s purpose, quoting from her scriptures-

“And He said to them, ‘The Shabbath was made for man, and not man for the Shabbath.’” — Marqos (Mark) 2:27

And from the KJV-

“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath.” — Mark 2:27

They laughed, shared stories, and prayed together. For the first time in months, Annie felt truly connected—not just to Yahusha, but to those around her. She realized the Sabbath was not only about personal renewal but also about communal restoration.

A Bold Commitment to Grace

As the day ended, Sara journaled her experience, committing to making the Sabbath a cornerstone of her life. She vowed to continue Buddhist-inspired mindfulness practices, study the Halaleyah Scriptures, and engage her community through WBJMinistries.

She closed her journal with the verse that encapsulated her journey*

“Therefore, if anyone is in Mashiaḥ, he is a renewed creature. The old matters have passed away; see, all matters have become renewed!” — Qorintiyim Bĕt (2 Corinthians) 5:17

And in the King James Bible-

“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature* old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)

Closing Prayer

Father Yahusha, we thank You for the gift of the Sabbath—a time to renew, restore, and reconnect. May we always seek Your presence in quietness and trust, embracing Your grace and sharing it with others. Let our lives be a testimony of Your goodness, and may WBJMinistries continue to shine as a beacon of hope and truth. Bless us with the strength to honor Your Sabbath and the courage to walk in Your light daily. Halaleyah.
