đ WBJMinistries Sermon ~ The Mirror and the Flame
A symbolic story for the one who wrestles within.
đđœ Opening Prayer
O Yah of Compassion and Fire,
We kneel not in shame, but in surrender.
You see beyond our masks, our defenses, our noise.
We ask You now to walk us into the truth with mercy,
to uncover our wounds gently, and to make us whole.
In the name of Yahusha HaâMashiach we pray.
Halleluyah.
đ The Story of the Flame and the Mirror
In an ancient village surrounded by mist-covered mountains, there lived a potter named Imah who carried two sacred tools; a mirror made of polished obsidian and a lamp filled with sacred oil. Each morning, Imah lit the lamp before the sun rose and held the mirror toward the flame. She would whisper a prayer and say,
> âShow me what is real, not what I fear, not what I judge, not what I desire but what is.â nevertheless over time, the village grew restless. A spirit of unrest drifted among the people like smoke. Whispers became daggers.
Neighbors began taking pleasure in exposing others' flaws, especially when those people longed for silence and privacy.
They said; âTruth must be seen!â
Nonetheless they were not shining light for healing, they were wielding it like fire to burn.
đ MishlÄy/Proverbs 17:9 (Halaleyah Scriptures)
> âHe who covers a transgression seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates intimate friends.âđ
Imah wept. She had seen this before. The mirror had warned her.
A darkness was rising, not from without yet from within.đŻïž The First Sign; The Illusion of Control. One day, a villager named Kaâel visited Imah. He said,
> âNo one listens to me unless I threaten. No one stays unless I control. If I do not manage their choices, I lose them.â Imah asked, âWould you like to see what your spirit carries?â
She held the mirror and flame before him. However Kaâel grew angry. âThis mirror lies!â he shouted.
He did not realize he was not looking at the mirrorâŠ
He was looking at himself.
đ YaÊœaqob/James 3:17 (Halaleyah Scriptures)
> âBut the wisdom from above is first clean, then peaceable, gentle, ready to obey, filled with compassion and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.âđ
Control, Imah whispered, is not connection. it is fear dressed in powerâs robes. âš The Second Sign; When Joy Feels Like a Threat. Later, a woman named Suri came, trembling.
She said, âMy friendâs joy... unsettles me. When she is happy, I shrink. Why does her laughter feel like my silence?â
Imah did not scold. She offered her the mirror.
Suri looked, and saw a wilted flower in a sealed jar.
Her joy had been stifled by years of silence.
She had not envied her friendâs laughter, she had grieved her own absence from it.
đ Romiyim/Romans 12:15 (Halaleyah Scriptures)
> âRejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.âđ
Imah said, âHer laughter is not your thief. It is your invitation.â
đš The Third Sign; The Sharp Tongue. Then came Ranan, a man with a sharpened tongue.
âI tell the truth,â he said. âThey need to be cut down to size.â
Though Imah handed him the mirror, and what he saw were ruins, burned bridges, lonely meals, and the echo of his own voice in empty rooms.
đ MishlÄy/Proverbs 18:21 (Halaleyah Scriptures)
> âDeath and life are in the power of the tongue, and those loving it eat its fruit.âđ
Ranan broke down. âI thought speaking down made me rise.â
âNo,â said Imah. âYou were setting fires in a house you live in.â
đȘ The True Message~ If you take pleasure in exposing people when they want privacyâŠ
If you cannot connect without using control or manipulationâŠ
If someone elseâs joy unsettles youâŠ
If you believe tearing others down is in any way beneficial to you⊠Then this message is for you.
Itâs time to stop blaming the shadows.
Itâs time to stop swinging the flame.
Itâs time to look inward, not outward.
đ Tehillim/Psalms 139:23-24 (Halaleyah Scriptures)
> âSearch me, O Äl, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.âđ
đ„ Closing Reflection; The Sacred Choice. In the end, the mirror does not shame you.
The flame does not burn to destroy.
Both are sacred gifts, to reflect and to reveal. Still what you do with what you seeâŠ
That is your sacred choice.
đđœ Closing Prayer
Yah of all truth,
We hand You the masks, the envy, the fear, and the pride.
Give us the courage to see,
the humility to change,
and the heart to love ourselves and others rightly.
Let this mirror and flame not destroy us,
but awaken us.
In Yahushaâs name we pray,
Halleluyah.
