Restoring the Rhythm-Embracing the Sabbath as a Divine Gift
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You in gratitude and humility. Thank You for the gift of Your Word, which lights our path and strengthens our spirits. As we gather to hear this message, may Your Ruach HaKodesh guide our hearts and minds. Let this story of preparation and grace inspire us to walk in Your ways and bring glory to Your name. HalleluYah!
A Family's Preparation for Sabbath
The sun was setting over a modest home where the Wilson family—Sarah, her husband Derrick, and their two children, Jeffrey and Lydia—prepared for Sabbath. Each evening of the sixth day, their home transformed into a sanctuary of peace and devotion.
Sarah, inspired by the Halaleyah Scriptures in Tehillim (Psalm) 92:1-2—_“It is good to give thanks to YHWH and to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High; To declare Your kindness in the morning, and Your trustworthiness each night”—_guided her family in readying their hearts for the holy day.
Root Chakra – Grounded in Faith
The family began their preparations by cleaning the home together, a symbolic act of grounding themselves in YHWH's order. Jeffrey read aloud from ( Mishlĕy) -Proverbs 24:3-4—“Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”
As they swept and dusted, Derrick reminded them that a clean and organized space reflects a heart ready to receive the blessings of Sabbath.
Sacral Chakra – Unity in Love
Next, they gathered in the kitchen to prepare the evening meal. The warm scent of unleavened bread filled the air, symbolizing the sweetness of unity. Sarah shared the verse from (Ephisiym)-Ephesians 5:2—“Walk in love, as Messiah also has loved us and gave Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to Elohim for a sweet-smelling aroma.”
Together, they poured their love into the meal, knowing that breaking bread would nourish not only their bodies but their connection as a family.
Solar Plexus Chakra – Confidence in Purpose
Before lighting the Sabbath candles, Lydia asked, “Why do we do this every week?” Smiling, Sarah opened the Halaleyah Scriptures to Shemoth (Exodus) 31:16-17—“The children of Yisra’el shall guard the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant. Between Me and the children of Yisra’el it is a sign forever.”
Sarah explained that keeping the Sabbath was a declaration of their purpose as YHWH’s children—a weekly reminder of who they were called to be.
Heart Chakra – Joyful Connection
As the family sat down for their meal, Derrick read from (Collosiyim)-Colossians 3:14-15—“Above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of Elohim rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
Each family member shared something they were grateful for, and their laughter echoed like music in the candlelit room.
Throat Chakra – Speaking Blessings
After dinner, they transitioned into their family prayer circle. Taking turns, they prayed aloud, their words flowing like rivers of life. Jeffrey’s voice trembled as he prayed- “YHWH, thank You for my family and for always taking care of us.”
Sarah encouraged them with Mishle (Proverbs) 18:21—“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it eat its fruit."
Third Eye Chakra – Seeking Wisdom
As the evening deepened, the family opened the Scriptures to study. Lydia read from Mattithyahu (Matthew) 6:33—“Seek first the reign of Elohim and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you.”
Derrick explained how studying the Word sharpens their vision and helps them discern the path YHWH has set before them.
Crown Chakra – Resting in His Presence
Finally, they spent a moment in silent meditation, each reflecting on the goodness of YHWH. Sarah recited Tehillim (Psalm) 46:10—“Be still, and know that I am Elohim.”
The family felt the peace of the Sabbath wash over them like a gentle tide, a reminder that YHWH’s presence is the ultimate source of rest and renewal.
Closing Prayer
Abba YHWH, we thank You for the sacred rhythm of Sabbath, a time to pause and reflect on Your goodness. Bless our hearts as we rest in You, and may the lessons we learn carry us through the week ahead. Strengthen our faith, deepen our love, and guide us in Your truth. HalleluYah!
