Elohim, open our eyes to the darkness facing the world—violence, division, fear, misinformation, injustice, and confusion. Give us wisdom to recognize truth, courage to stand in it, and compassion to serve others. Let WBJMinistries carry a message of light, hope, and understanding.

There are moments when an image becomes a message.

When I saw this image, it was entirely in light. There was no person standing in the center. No figure was necessary. No crowd was necessary. There was simply light. And I understood something;

Light does not need a person to prove that it exists. That message matters because the world is facing a serious crisis of violence, division, misinformation, and distrust.

The United Nations documented 37,163 civilian deaths in conflict during 2025—approximately one recorded civilian death every 14 minutes. Those are statistics, yet every number represents a human life.

This is where sociology teaches us to look beyond the number. Crime and violence are influenced by social conditions, economics, geography, institutions, inequality, family structures, opportunity, and culture.

Applied statistics helps us recognize patterns. Scripture reminds us never to lose compassion while studying those patterns.

📖Mikah (Micah) 6:8, Halleluyah Scriptures:

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth YHWH require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy Elohim?”📜

Justice. Mercy. Humility.

Now imagine Manhattan.

The Empire State Building says, rise.

The Statue of Liberty reminds us of freedom.

The World Trade Center reminds us to remember, rebuild, and rise again.

Penn Station reminds us that sometimes the route changes without ending the journey.

Times Square reminds us to guard our attention in a world competing for our minds.

Wall Street asks a spiritual question: What are you investing your life in?

And in the Village, where blues music has carried stories of pain and survival, we remember that pain can become expression, and expression can become testimony.

Then there are Manhattan's museums.

The American Museum of Natural History invites humanity to explore nature, human cultures, and the universe. The Met preserves thousands of years of human creativity. The Museum of Modern Art challenges us to see differently. The Museum of the City of New York preserves the evolving story of the city.

These places teach one lesson:

Humanity has always been searching for meaning.

That search appears across cultures.

Buddhism teaches disciplined awareness and compassion.

Catholic tradition emphasizes prayer, charity, and service.

Islam teaches disciplined worship, charity, and responsibility.

Indigenous traditions, including the history of the Mohegan people, remind us of ancestral memory, land, and cultural survival.

The concepts of Amadlozi and Unkulunkulu belong to African spiritual traditions that carry their own understanding of ancestry and creation.

My Polish lineage reminds me that family history also carries stories of resilience, migration, faith, struggle, and survival. Even the chakra tradition gives humanity another symbolic language for thinking about inner awareness and balance. These traditions are not identical. They should be studied with respect and discernment.

📖Tesloniqim Aleph (1 Thessalonians) 5:21, Halleluyah Scriptures:

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”📜

And Scripture gives us women who carried light through difficult circumstances—Deborah, Esther, Ruth, Hannah, and Miryam.

History gives us women and men such as Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou, and James Baldwin, whose lives remind us that truth can become a force for transformation.

Socrates taught the importance of examining life.💬

Marcus Aurelius wrote about governing one's response.💬

Maya Angelou reminded generations that courage and dignity can survive difficult circumstances.💬

Their words point toward one principle:

Do not surrender your mind to the darkness around you. The Cosmos makes that lesson even greater.

Look beyond Manhattan.

Beyond the skyscrapers.

Beyond the harbor.

Beyond the city lights.

Look toward the heavens.

📖Tehillim (Psalms) 19:1, Halleluyah Scriptures:

“The heavens declare the glory of El; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”📜

The universe reminds us that our arguments are small compared with creation.

Our divisions are temporary.

Our responsibilities are real.

And our time is precious.

📖Bereshith (Genesis) 1:3, Halleluyah Scriptures:

“And Elohim said, Let there be light: and there was light.”📜

That is where this message returns.

The world does not need more darkness explained.

It needs light demonstrated.

Light through truth.

Light through justice.

Light through education.

Light through compassion.

Light through service.

Light through wisdom.

When the world becomes violent, choose peace.

When the world becomes divided, choose understanding.

When misinformation spreads, choose discernment.

When injustice appears, choose courage.

When hope becomes difficult, keep walking.

📖Mattithyahu (Matthew) 5:14, Halleluyah Scriptures:

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.”📜

You do not have to become the loudest voice.

You do not have to win every argument.

You do not have to convince everyone.

Sometimes the most powerful testimony is simply to keep shining.
