The Family of Light- Shining Together Amidst Division
A Sabbath Sermon on Unity and Grace- The Family of Light in the Face of Division
Presented by WBJMinistries
Opening Prayer
Halaleyah, O Most High! Blessed are You, Creator of heaven and earth, the stars in the cosmos, and all living beings. On this holy Sabbath, we come together as one family under Your guidance. Let Your Word illuminate our hearts as the stars light the heavens, bringing unity where there is division and love where there is strife. Halleluyah!
The Story Begins- The Family of Light
In a quiet village nestled under the vast expanse of the cosmos, there lived a family known as the Family of Light. This family was no ordinary one; their bond was woven not just by blood but by the divine threads of love and purpose. They gathered every Sabbath beneath the open sky to marvel at the Creator’s masterpiece—the stars, each one a reminder of His infinite grace.
The eldest daughter, Sarai, loved to recite scriptures under the night sky. One evening, she opened the Halaleyah Scriptures to Tehillim (Psalms) 19:1, and her voice rang out-
"The heavens declare the glory of Elohim; and the firmament shows His handiwork."
Her younger brother, Emet, looked up at the stars and whispered, "If the heavens can declare His glory together, why can’t we, as people, live in harmony?"
The Rift Among People
Their village, though small, was deeply divided. There were disputes over traditions, wealth, and who held the truth. The family often faced ridicule for their belief in unity, but they clung to the Word of Elohim.
One Sabbath, their father, Abner, shared a parable from the Scriptures, turning to the traditional Bible- (Mattithyahu )-
Matthew 12:25- "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand."
He then spoke to his children with tears in his eyes, "If we, the Family of Light, do not live as an example of unity, how can we shine as the stars do in the heavens?"
The Challenge of Division
One day, a great storm arose, shaking the village and threatening to destroy their home. The family huddled together, praying fervently. Sarai read aloud from the Halaleyah Scriptures-
YeshaYahu (Isaiah) 40:26- "Lift up your eyes on high and see Who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name. By the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, not one is missing."
Their prayers were not just for their family’s safety but for the village, that the storm would unite them. When the storm passed, they found their home intact, but the neighboring houses were damaged. Without hesitation, the family went out to help rebuild—not just homes but relationships.
The Cosmic Revelation*
That evening, as the village gathered to thank the Creator for sparing their lives, Emet shared his revelation- "We are like the stars in the cosmos. Alone, we are small and distant, but together, we form constellations, telling stories of hope, grace, and redemption."
He then read from the Halaleyah Scriptures-
Debarim- (Deuteronomy) 10:14- "See, the heavens and the heaven of heavens belong to Yahusha your Elohim, also the earth with all that is in it."
The village fell silent, reflecting on the enormity of creation and their place within it. Sarai added, “If we can be as constant and faithful as the stars, perhaps we can overcome our divisions.”
The Lesson of Unity
The family’s acts of kindness ignited a change in the village. Barriers of pride and prejudice began to crumble. One Sabbath, the entire village gathered under the open sky, united for the first time in years. Together, they read-(Galatim)-
Galatians 3:28 -"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Messiah Yahusha."
Looking up at the stars, Abner declared, "We are the Family of Light, not because of our perfection, but because of His grace. Let us walk as children of the light."
The Final Call
As the story ends, WBJMinistries invites you to reflect on the cosmos above and the family of humanity here below. Just as the stars fulfill their purpose without strife, we too are called to shine together.
Let us close with this Halaleyah Scripture-
Mishlĕy (Proverbs) 3:19-20 founded the earth by wisdom; He Yahusha established the heavens by understanding. By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down dew."
And the traditional Bible verse-(Ephisiym -
Ephesians 4:3- "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
Closing Prayer
Halaleyah, O Most High! On this Sabbath, we thank You for the lesson of the Family of Light. May we, like the stars in the heavens, reflect Your glory and grace. Unite us in love, guide us by Your Word, and let us shine brightly in a divided world. Halleluyah!
